for Your Child’s Future

You may be thinking, "My child can barely see past Saturday night, let alone what life will look like in 10 years!" You’re not alone. Parents everywhere struggle with how to help their children prepare for a career that will lead to self-sufficiency and happiness

The award-winning Career Choices series curriculum can guide your teenager as they explore a step-by-step decision-making process that will help them find their own answers to three critical questions: Who am I? What do I want? How do I get it?

This process will challenge your student to envision a future that includes:

  • Graduation from high school
  • Completion of post-secondary education or training
  • Transition into workforce with the training and skills necessary for economic self-sufficiency

And, just as important, the curriculum will teach them a proven process for developing a plan that will make the future they envision a reality!

Critical for ALL Students – Become an Advocate

What is your school board doing to build resilience, develop critical thinking skills, and provide students with opportunities for early career exploration and planning?

Schools across the country are using the Career Choices series curriculum to support college and career readiness because it is a cost-efficient program that successfully promotes high school graduation, post-secondary completion, and successful, skilled entry into the workforce.

Career Choices is designed to help ALL kids deal with the two major tasks of adolescence: establishing and consolidating their identity and deciding what they want to do with their lives. Each of the more than 100 active-learning exercises builds on the ones before, leading students through the creation of their own My10yearPlan.com® that they can review, modify, and update for the duration of their time in high school—and beyond!

Parents report that a Career Choices series course prompted at-home discussions about what "reality" looks like for a self-sufficient adult because the course explores everything from job interviews to mortgage payments to how to feed a family of four on a tight budget—so don’t be surprised if, at some point, you hear, "I had no idea how much money I cost you!" Please be prepared to listen and offer your insight, as your input and support will add a great deal of meaning to this wonderful process.
